Richard Calcasola founder of the award-winning Maximus Spa/Salon in New Yorks SoHo and Long Island is a member of Intercoiffure USA/Canada, the international association that shapes the direction of creativity and professionalism in the beauty industry. Mr. Calcasola has recently been appointed the North American Creative Director for the worldwide Intercoiffure Mondial, one of the most prestigious positions in the USA/Canada beauty industry. Calcasola is part of a worldwide creative team, charged with shaping the perception of beauty for professionals and consumers.
In addition to traveling to Paris several times a year, Calcasola completed co-producing presentations, which were presented to over forty countries in 2004, at the congress in Japan where he received the Diplome D Honneur award. This year Mr. Calcasola will be the creative mind behind two photo shoots in New York. One, dedicated to street fashion, reflects a global effort by Intercoiffure Mondial to provide images of what is seen on the streets of New York City. The second shoot will focus on style and how it differs from fashion.
Recognized by the international beauty industry as a style innovator, Mr. Calcasola combines creativity with business acumen and is considered a beauty services expert. A member of LOreal Technique Professionelles World Class Color Council, Mr. Calcasola is a frequent guest artist, teacher and speaker at salons throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
An avid reader of publications on fashion, beauty, music, architecture and the arts, Mr. Calcasola attends international fashion and beauty events including Fashion Week in New York, Cosmoprof in Las Vegas and Londons annual Hairworld.
After 35 years in the beauty field Mr. Calcasolas credits are many and varied. His unwavering commitment to his craft and art had labeled him as a professionals professional.
